Guest Entry Sources

Every guest on the waitlist or reservation list has an entry source — how they were added to the list. The source is shown as a badge on each guest's row.

Staff Entry

The guest was added manually by a staff member using the + Add button inside the app. This typically happens when:

  • A guest arrives without scanning the QR code
  • A guest calls in to make a reservation
  • A guest requests to be added in person

Staff Entry guests go through the same status flow as any other guest.

Guest QR

The guest added themselves by scanning the QR code displayed at your venue. They filled in the entry form on their own device — name, phone, party size, and any other fields you have configured.

Guest QR entries arrive in real time and are added to the bottom of the active list. Their confirmation page stays open on the guest's device, which enables:

  • Paging — they receive an in-venue notification when you page them
  • Quick Chat — staff can push prompts to their confirmation page

Why It Matters

Knowing the entry source helps staff understand the guest's context:

  • A Guest QR entry with a phone number is ready to receive a page or WhatsApp message
  • A Staff Entry may have incomplete details if the guest was added quickly — check for missing phone numbers or preferences
