The QR code lets guests join your waitlist on their own phone — no staff input needed. Display it at the entrance, on a table tent, or anywhere guests can scan on arrival.
Tap the QR button in the top navigation bar to open the QR panel.
Two Landing Types
The QR panel offers two ways a guest can land after scanning: Web and WhatsApp. Switch between them using the toggle at the top of the QR panel.
Web Landing
The guest is taken to your store's web page in their browser, where they fill in a short form and submit their entry.
Guest flow:
- Guest scans the QR code.
- Their browser opens your store's guest page with the Waitlist tab pre-selected.
- They fill in their details — name, phone number, party size, and any optional fields you have enabled.
- They tap Join Waitlist (or Reserve for the Reservation QR).
- A confirmation page appears showing their position in the queue, estimated wait, and a link they can bookmark.
What staff see:
- The guest appears instantly in the Waitlist tab with a QR icon next to their name.
- All fields the guest filled in (name, phone, pax, preferences) are visible in the guest row.
When to use Web landing:
- Guests who are unfamiliar with WhatsApp or prefer a browser-based experience.
- Reservation entry (the Reservation QR always uses Web landing).
- Branches that have not yet enabled the WhatsApp API.
WhatsApp Landing
The guest is taken directly into a WhatsApp conversation with the isReserved business number. The entire check-in happens inside WhatsApp — no browser form required.
WhatsApp landing requires the WhatsApp API to be enabled for your branch. Contact your Admin if the WhatsApp tab is greyed out in the QR panel.
Guest flow:
- Guest scans the QR code.
- WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message — the guest just taps Send.
- The system immediately asks: "How many guests will be in your party?" — the guest selects from a tap list (1–8, or 9+).
- The guest is added to the waitlist. They receive a confirmation message:
```
Hi there, you're on our list:
Location: [Branch Name]
Position: #3
Waitlist ID: #42
We'll message you here when it's your turn.
[ Current Position ] ← tap to open their confirmation page
```
- When staff tap Page, the guest receives a WhatsApp notification:
```
Hi [Name]! Your table at [Branch Name] is ready — please head in now.
[ View my spot ]
```
What staff see:
- The guest appears instantly in the Waitlist tab with a green WhatsApp icon next to their name — indicating they are connected via WhatsApp.
- Party size is captured from the WhatsApp conversation; name is pulled from their WhatsApp profile.
- Staff can page the guest using the standard Page button — the WhatsApp notification is sent automatically.
When to use WhatsApp landing:
- Guests who regularly use WhatsApp and prefer not to fill in a browser form.
- Venues where automatic paging notifications via WhatsApp are important.
- High-volume situations where a frictionless check-in experience matters.
WhatsApp QR indicator
When the WhatsApp tab is selected, a green WhatsApp logo appears at the centre of the QR code. This makes it immediately clear to guests — and to staff displaying the QR — which landing type is active.
Switching Landing Type
The Web and WhatsApp toggle is at the top of the QR panel. Tap either button to switch. The QR code updates instantly.
The app remembers your last selection and restores it the next time you open the QR panel.
The WhatsApp tab is disabled for Reservation QR codes. WhatsApp landing is available for Waitlist only.
Switching Between Waitlist and Reservation QR
Open the QR panel from the Waitlist QR or Reservation QR items in the profile menu. Each opens the QR panel pre-set to that list type. The Reservation QR always uses Web landing.
Fullscreen Mode
Tap Full screen at the bottom of the QR panel to expand the QR to fill the screen. This makes it easier for guests to scan from a distance or when the device is mounted at the entrance.
In fullscreen mode, a lock option prevents accidental dismissal — useful when the device is left unattended at the door.
QR Auto-Refresh
The QR code refreshes automatically every 30 seconds. A progress bar at the bottom of the panel counts down to the next refresh.
Each refresh generates a new timestamped code. Codes expire shortly after generation, so a guest cannot save and reuse an old QR image later.
You do not need to do anything — the refresh happens automatically while the panel is open.
